ABOUT
Orlando Arce is an artist currently based in New York. He uses a craftsman approach to find a project's visual identity, while understanding that each client has invested a great deal to pursue their vision for communication and connectivity. His main objective is to deliver a fresh approach in the fields of branding, art direction, design, animation, audio and creative strategy.
Arce is constantly thinking, creating and experimenting while letting those results feed into his commercial work. His father has been a big influence; he worked at several top advertising agencies in NYC such as NW Ayer & Son, Saatchi & Saatchi and Ogilvy & Mather. Every term he'd bring home the Yearly Books which showcased the top freelance artists working in advertising. Arce studied these books and found many styles that inspired him. Naturally growing up in New York City would lead to many creative roads, starting at Art and Design high school. There he learned and practiced many different artistic skills and techniques from the faculty and students attending. Many of those students inspired his love and talent for the art of graffiti and street art, and while outside of school he formed a band Stillsuit. That band would go on to be signed to a major label very quickly with Arce just being out of high school. They released an EP and full length album for Wreckage and TVT Building Records that would later be sold at independent and commercial music stores nationally. That opportunity allowed Arce to travel, tour and become exposed to different cultures across North America and internationally.
Arce explains, "Growing up in NYC has made me a natural witness and participant in the NYC's hip-hop and underground punk and hardcore culture. I am an individual who is aware of his roots while always searching for the pulse of something new. I am constantly using those materials and mediums at hand to achieve the best results in my work".
Most recently Arce's work was shown and sold at Village Works NYC's gallery. Here
